Friday, December 11, 2009 THE HAM IS THE THING Did I ever consider the possibilities of Ham before I met Tim? The answer is no. During holiday times, I wasn’t exactly down with the idea of Ham. Usually, Ham was served to me somewhere around Easter – or during the “big ones” – Thanksgiving and Christmas. More than likely, this was a Honey Baked Ham. I would try it, nod and think to myself, “yes, that is Ham.” But truly, I didn’t really care. I usually go for more of the sides that are offered, in addition to trying to secure a decent piece of dark turkey meat. During our first Thanksgiving as a married couple, though, Tim informed me that he wanted Ham. Ham for Thanksgiving? No turkey? “I couldn’t care less about turkey”, Tim responded. He was throwing down a challenge for me, and I was up for it....
